16-35mmf/2.8L USM - Three types of aspherical elements
- Highly resistant to dust and water droplets
- Inner focusing and ring USM for silent and high-speed AF operation
- Drop-in, gelatin filter holder provided at the rear
- Circular diaphragm for better background blur.
Developed to succeed the high-performance 17-35mm f/2.8L USM, the EF 16-35mmf/2.8L USM has the leading wide-angle range in its class. Due to the proliferation of digital SLR Camera's that tend to have a smaller frame size when compared to the 35mm,there is a demand for shorter focal length lenses, and this has resulted in the development of the EF 16-35mmf/2.8L USM. This is the first EF lens to have three types of aspherical elements (ground, replicated and glass molded which effectively correct the lens aberrations which occur during zooming.

EF
17-40mm f/4L USM
- Superb optical performance throughout the zoom range.
- Fastest AF speed within its class (same as the EF16-35 f/2.8L USM)*
- Highly dust and moisture resistant
- 28cm minimum focusing distance at all focal lengths
The EF17-40mm f/4L USM is an ultra wide angle Canon EF zoom lens meant for professional and high amateur SLR EOS camera users. The EF17-40mm f/4L USM has 12 lens elements arranged in 9 groups. Super Spectra Coating on the elements ensures excellent
color balance and minimizes ghosting and flare. To provide superb image quality over a 17-40mm zoom range the lens uses three aspheric elements of two different types, while Super UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) glass is used to prevent the chromatic aberrations that often can degrade the subject edge clarity.
The Auto-focus works silently and quickly thanks to a fast central processing unit with an improved AF algorithm. You can override AF mode with manual focus should you wish. Controlled by an electromagnetic diaphragm, the EF17-40mm f/4L USM's circular aperture can achieve a more attractive appearance to out of focus background areas in a picture. The front of the lens does not rotate as you focus. This means, for example, that
polarizing filters still function effectively as you zoom in and out. At the rear of the lens there's a drop-in gelatin filter holder. Highly resistant to moisture and dust, the EF17-40mm f/4L USM is ideally suited for use in harsh environments.

The EF 28-70mm f/2.8L USM has proven very popular with professional
and advanced amateur photographers since it was introduced in 1995.
However, the increasing use of digital cameras, most having sensors
smaller than a 35mm film frame, has increased the demand for a
high-performance standard zoom lens with a wider wide-angle setting.
The EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM lens meets this need. The optical design
is based on the previous lens, but incorporates new design features
that allow the broader focal length range while maintaining the
superb image quality. At the same time, the minimum focusing
distance has been reduced from 0.5 meters to 0.38 meters. Improved
water and dust resistance ensure that it will become the leading
standard zoom lens in the EOS system.

28-105mm f/4-5.6 USM
- Among the lenses with fastest AF speed in it's class
- Light weight and small size
- Circular aperture at max settings
- Micro USM II
- Inner focusing means attached filters do not rotate
- Environmental friendly lead-free glass used* as of Aug 27, 2002
The EF 28-105mm f/4-5.6 USM uses an aspherical lens element to maintain a high image quality throughout the zoom range. All the lens elements are made from environmentally friendly lead-free glass. The small size of the lens is due, in part, to the use of a new type of AF drive actuator. The Micro USM II is a minute ultrasonic motor that retains a similar level of performance as previous Micro USMs, but has a total length - as well as weight - reduced by almost one half. The AF speed is the fastest in its class when used with the EOS 300V but also faster all round performance is delivered when the lens is used with other EOS models. With inner focusing, the front lens does not rotate during focusing. Various accessories can therefore be attached to the front lens without being hindered by lens rotation or movement.
